Domestic Short Hair - Sparrow - Medium - Adult - Female - Cat
Sparrow, a one year old black, short haired cat has a very sad story. She was one of five female kittens born in a cluttered home to people who were high on drugs and paid no attention to the litter. A nice woman who rescues cats was called to take the kittens away when they were about 10 weeks old. Because no one ever held, cuddled or played with them, they were fearful of people. The woman had to use a Hav-A-Hart trap to get each one. It took two months before she had all five. The fifth one trapped was Sparrow, who was the most traumatized. All four of Sparrow's sisters found wonderful people who accepted them and realized what horrible conditions these kittens had been through. Each knew that their kitten needed lots of love and time before it trusted them and perhaps would would always be shy with strangers. Now we are seeking a quiet home with a special person who has patience and can understand why Sparrow is afraid. Sparrow in not aggressive, but acts like a semi feral cat although she has never been outdoors. She is currently in a temporary foster home, and we were told that after several weeks she came up to the foster parent to be petted, then ran and hid for awhile. She is okay with other cats, but dogs will probably frighten her. Sparrow may never be the friendly lap cat that most people desire. We are looking for that one special person who has a place in their heart to give this little girl a loving, safe environment forever..
